DIRECTOR OF FINANCE, Nemaska Print E-mail

Under the supervision of the Treasurer, the Director of Finance is responsible for ensuring the effective control and updating of all stages of the accounting system for the Niskamoon Corporation, including but not limited to the preparation of the monthly budgets and monthly internal financial statements, cash flow statements, financial forecasts and preparation for audit.
Accounting Responsibilities
Coordinate the accounting activities, which includes analyzing and organizing the accounting system by establishing procedures, and organizing and implementing internal controls;
Coordinate and maintain financial control over agreements between the Niskamoon Corporation and the communities involved, which includes consolidating and overseeing activity reports and financial report as requested for each contract agreement;
Supervise accounting staff under his/her direction in bookkeeping activities. Provide training where necessary;
Maintain records of funding according to the agreements within the appropriate program, ensuring collection and conducting a regular follow-‐ up of each file;
Prepare monthly internal financial statements/reports for the audit preparation and discuss the statements with the Treasurer;
Assist in the annual budget process;
Prepare financial forecast statements to evaluate the financial situation; Prepare cash flow statements to determine future cash requirements; Prepare adjustment entries in the general ledger;
Review and analyze of the general ledger expenditures;
Prepare different financial reports required by the Treasurer or the Board of Directors;
In the absence of the Treasurer, to assume the responsibilities and authority of the office of the Treasurer.

Assist the Treasurer in developing and managing the budget for the Department of Finance;
 Keep track of other departments budgetary expenses and advise Treasurer of any excess in
 Ensure that the Departmentís objectives are achieved by defining departmental and individual
 Supervise and manage the employees of the Finance Department including evaluating, disciplining
and training;
 Maintain constant communication by preparing the Departmentís reports and participating in various
meeting and committees.
