CORE FUNCTIONS
Under the immediate supervision of the Financial Officer, the Financial Clerk is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations, in accordance with established procedures and assist with monitoring the Department financial expenditures.

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS
Functional Responsibilities:
• Assist in maintaining the DOJCS financial database by performing necessary data entry.
• Perform invoices budget coding and enter in the database.
• Verify accuracy of invoices received from suppliers by cross-referencing the invoices with the open Purchase Orders in the database.
• Maintain a log of regular supplier invoices and act as a liaison with the Finance department to monitor the payment status of invoices.
• Maintain all supplier files up to date and update supplier contact information.
• Assist with the financial activities of the Community Justice Committees (CJC) to ensure financial accuracy.
• Assist the Justice Funds Administrators by verifying accuracy of all financial documents and act as a liaison with the Cree Nation Government finance department to monitor the payment status.
• Assist with reviewing the financial aspects of all Corrections unit programs, including the Pardons Processing Program and Employment Subsidy Program.
• Assist with reviewing the financial aspects of all Community Justice Service’s unit programs, including CAVAC and the Community Justice Committees training.
• Assist in preparing all financial reports including quarterly financial reports.
• Ensure all work is done in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Administrative Responsibilities
• Create and maintain up-to-date and confidential filing system for financial documents in order to ensure efficient retrieval of information.
• Perform other related tasks as requested by the Financial Officer.
