Assistance is available namely for Employment placement, Career Counseling, Self-employment assistance, Training and upgrading, Targeted wage. Community Based Programs have more than 11 initiatives: Institutional training Enable individuals without employment to receive institutional vocational training leading to a form of accreditation.
On the job training Enable individuals who are employed to acquire the additional vocational skills needed to adapt to new functions, or functions that have altered, as a result of technological or market changes.
Targeted wage subsidies Encourage employers to hire individuals they would not normally hire in the absence of a subsidy. Many other initiatives are also available.
Funding Depending on the type of programs, funding is available namely for: - Salaries
- Training fees (tuition, material, etc.)
- Training allowance
- Travel expenses
Eligible Applicants - Cree and non-Cree individuals (unemployed or employed)
- Any organization (business, partnership, society, band council, agency, non-profit organization, etc. not necessarily owned by a Cree beneficiary).
